What equipment do I need to use the wireless service? Any wireless device that is Wi-Fi, 802.11b, g or n compliant including laptops, desktops, PDAs, etc. There are no additional modems or routers for you to purchase or maintain.
Do I need to install any software? No, ETS requires no software to get connected.
Can I use my Apple MAC on the wireless service? Yes, our wireless networks are fully compatible with Apple MAC. For MAC advice and on-line help you can try: http://forums.macosxhints.com
Can I use my desktop computer on ETS Wireless service? Yes, just install a wireless card or USB adapter available at local electronics stores. They range in price from $10 to $50 each.
Where can I connect to the wireless? ETS wireless network covers the entire property. You are free to roam anywhere from your apartment to the laundry room.
How Secure is ETS wireless Internet service? ETS takes security very seriously and includes comprehensive protection for all users. ETS wireless network includes:
- Access Guard – protecting each resident from other residents on the network, isolating each and every user from what is known as “ease dropping”.
- Wireless Encryption – ETS uses WEP wireless encryption to protect your data as it travels through the air.
- Anti-Virus & SPAM control – ETS protects the entire network from today’s threats either entering or attempting to leave the network. ETS also offers FREE Anti-virus & Spyware software on our website at www.etsusa.com.
What speeds can I expect while using the service? You can expect speeds comparable to other more expensive cable and DSL services.
